First there was the two month long invasion of the 17 year cicadas.  At first they were cute . . . and then there were millions of them . . . all screeching their mating song . . . then there were itch mites . . . then there was hot humid weather . . . followed by days and days of torrential rains . . . followed by mosquitoes . . . followed by more mosquitoes . . . followed by more hot humid weather . . . it's now October 7th and we've had the air conditioning going full blast for the past week!  I want some decent fall weather!!

I've had the intoxicating smell of fresh lilacs this past week on my desk at work courtesy of a co-worker who shared them from her yards. Ours didn't really come in this year, and I don't know why--neighbors a few doors down had theirs. Inktense water colors.
